San Antonio, population 1.3 million, is the second largest city in Texas and the seventh largest in the US. Located in the middle of Texas in what is considered to be the northern part of south TX, San Antonio is a part of Bexar County and is the centerpoint in what is known as the San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan area. Despite having a large population within city limits, San Antonio does not sprawl as much as other Texan cities such as Houston or Dallas.
